The Race II is a slim-cut adjustable breastplate from Schockemohle, made from high-quality English leather with elastic side parts. The slim design sits neatly on the horse without adding bulk, while the elastic inserts ensure the breastplate moves with your horse rather than restricting it.
Multiple adjustment points allow you to fine-tune the fit, and the quality of the leather is immediately noticeable — this is a breastplate built to last. Available in Black and Antique Brown with silver fittings.

Unfortunately not all our suppliers provide us with details around size and fit of items. Where possible, we'll always advise whether an item 'comes up small' or 'fits large'.
Unless this is stated on the description, it's highly recommended that you stick with your usual size. Here's some tips for choosing sizing of breastplates and martingales:
- Breastplates and Martingales commonly come in just two sizes - cob or full
- Unless your horse is exceptionally large (ie 18hh+), full size should fit adequately
- Cob size generally fits most horses that are below 16hh
- Sometimes, if your horse is particularly fine and/or small in stature, yet is 16.1-16.2hh, cob size can sometimes fit, but overall full size is almost always the most appropriate choiceF
- There are several adjustment holes throughout the fit of these products, usually with space to make more holes in the leatherwork with a leather punch
As martingales and breastplates usually sit right against the horses skin, they regularly become quite wet, sweaty and dirty. It's therefore highly recommended that after use, you use a lightly damp cloth to wipe them down, removing dirt and sweat from the leatherwork.
Always store martingales and breastplates in a warm dry place, with plenty ventilation. Do not use artificial heat sources to dry the leather, as this can cause it to become dry and crack.
