Which Seat Saver Is Right For You?
Acavallo offers over a dozen seat saver options — here's how to choose the right one for your riding
Standard or Ortho?
A full, continuous seat saver with no cut-outs. The gel covers the entire seat area for even cushioning across the whole saddle. Available in 10mm and 20mm, Gel-In and Gel-Out, and in Classic or Air Plus construction.
Best for: General comfort, long rides, taking the edge off a hard saddle, riders without specific pressure point issues
Features a shaped cut-out to relieve pressure on a specific area. The Ortho-Coccyx has a rear cut-out for tailbone relief. The Ortho-Pubis has a front cut-out for pubic bone relief. Only available at 20mm thickness.
Best for: Riders with specific pain in the tailbone or pubic bone area, those who sit heavily, riders coming back from injury
Gel In or Gel Out?
The gel layer sits inside, with a smooth Dri-Lex fabric on the riding surface. Gives you a subtle, traditional feel in the saddle with excellent moisture-wicking. Ideal if you want comfort without changing the feel of your saddle too much.
Best for: Experienced riders, competitors who want a discreet look, hunters
The gel layer sits on top — you sit directly on the gel. This gives you maximum grip and shock absorption right where you need it. The textured surface keeps you locked in, even in smooth breeches.
Best for: Riders wanting maximum security, those with back or joint pain, nervous riders, long hacks
Classic or Air Plus?
A solid, continuous gel layer — the original Acavallo construction. Provides maximum cushioning density and the most shock absorption per millimetre. Available in 10mm and 20mm across the full range.
Best for: Maximum shock absorption, riders prioritising cushioning over breathability
The gel panel is perforated with air channels, making the seat saver lighter and more breathable. The air channels allow heat to dissipate rather than building up. Available at 10mm in Gel-In and Gel-Out.
Best for: Warm weather riding, riders sensitive to heat, those who prefer a lighter feel
10mm or 20mm?
Thinner gel layer. Sits more discreetly on the saddle with minimal change to how it feels. Good for riders who want a little extra comfort without bulk. Available across the Standard range in both Classic and Air Plus.
Thicker gel layer with significantly more shock absorption and cushioning. Available in both Standard and Ortho ranges. The best choice if comfort is your top priority.
Pony Sizes
Need a seat saver for a pony saddle? The Pony range uses the same Acavallo gel technology, properly scaled down to fit pony-sized saddles without bunching or overhanging. Available in Classic Gel-In and Gel-Out, jumping cut only.
