Use this size guide to find the correct rug size for your horse. Imperial Riding rugs are labelled using both UK rug sizing (feet) and US blanket sizing (inches) — both describe the same rug length.

How to measure your horse for a rug:

Bottom length — measure along the side of the horse, from the middle of the chest, around the shoulder, to the end of the quarters (just past the point of the buttock). This is the standard measurement used for UK and US rug sizing.
Top length — measure in a straight line along the back, from the base of the neck (at the withers) to the base of the tail.
Horse height — measured from the ground to the top of the withers. Use the hands (hh) column if you know your horse's height in hands, or centimetres if you've measured with a height stick.

If your horse falls between two sizes, or is broader or deeper-built than average, it's usually best to size up.

This size chart is a guideline. Always keep the shape and build of your individual horse in mind — broader, deeper-built, or heavily-muscled horses may need to size up. Measurements in feet (UK) and inches (US) refer to the length of the rug along the bottom edge.

The Super-Dry 200g turnout rug from Imperial Riding is designed for horses that need reliable weather protection without overheating. The 200g insulation provides a comfortable level of warmth that suits the unpredictable conditions of spring and autumn — enough to take the edge off a cold, damp morning without causing your horse to sweat up when the sun comes out.

What sets this rug apart is the Super-Dry fabric technology. The outer shell sheds rain quickly, meaning your horse stays dry underneath even during heavy showers. This is particularly useful for horses that live out year-round or for those between-seasons days when the weather can change by the hour. The rug dries fast too, so even after a wet night it's ready to go again by morning.

The construction is practical and well-thought-out. Cross surcingles and leg straps keep the rug securely in place, even for horses that are hard on their rugs. The tail flap provides extra coverage at the back, and the generous cut allows plenty of room for movement without rubbing or restricting the shoulders. Available in a range of sizes and several colourways to suit your preference.
